Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying a sustained but gentle pressure to the restrictions within Myofascial connective tissue to help eliminate pain and restore mobility. Some things that may create Myofascial restrictions are: Trauma, Inflammatory Responses, and/or Surgical Procedures. At High Country Muscle & Joint Clinic we develop treatment plans that are individualized to each person’s specific needs. These treatment plans help treat the “cause of the problem” to eliminate the symptoms, in order to make permanent structural changes in the tissue to help people return to a normal pain free, active lifestyle.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE MODALITIES USED IN THE CLINIC

At High Country Muscle & Joint Clinic we utilize a wide variety of Myofascial Release techniques to ensure proper function of the soft tissues and increase joint range of motion.

Modalities that are used in the clinic are:

  • Instrument Assisted Soft tissue Mobilization (IASTM) – IASTM has two main functions: 1. Break up abnormal densities in tissue(Fascial Adhesions), such as scar tissue. 2. Stimulate first-stage healing in the body - resulting in remodeling of affected soft tissue structures.
  • Foam Rolling
  • Pin and stretch
  • Post Isometric Relaxation Stretching
  • Band Flossing
